Tamil movies ’Jilla’ and ‘Veeram’ first day box-office collections report
Tamil movies “Jilla” and “Veeram” which released on Jan 10, 2014, are doing great business at the domestic as well as overseas box-office.
These two movies have broken the 1st day collection records and are currently on the first and second spot in terms of opening day collections.With intent to enhance the entertainment quotient, movie makers usually release their high budget movies during festival seasons.
Accordingly both these movies are doing well to woo movie fans with some action and masala with their release on Pongal.The 2nd day collections and the weekend collections of these two movies is going to be even better considering the holidays. As reported by trade analyst the 1st day collections of Jilla’ is said to be Rs Rs 16.5 cores worldwide.
“Veeram”, on the other hand, did well to collect around 14 cores worldwide on the first day of its release. The movie amassed 3.9 cores in Tamil Nadu alone, whereas the overseas collections read somewhere around 1.9 cores, which is quite impressive.
According to film critics, “Jilla” is a decent amalgamation of horrible fights and emotional scenes, which reaches its culmination through Mohan Lal’s captivating style.Those who prefer entertaining movies rather than those drenched with action and bloodshed would sure love “Veeram”, which portrays Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar in a romantic role.
Tamannah, Vidharth, Pradeep Rawat and Abhinaya have done a commendable job in putting up decent performances. Directed by Siva, “Veeram” seems all set to pose tough competition to “Jilla”.After all, it’s already Pongal for Ajith, Vijay fans, since both movies now flaunt decent first day box office collections.
